不符合常理是什麼意思

在英語學習過程中熟詞生義一直是困擾大家的一個特殊存在，很多短語都沒有它們字面所表達的意思；即使有字面的意思，也還有可能有其他的寓意，基本上可以用防不勝防來形容，這就需要日積月累，才不至於望文生義或空穴來風。

現在例舉幾個短語來說明這個現象，如 kick the bucket，kick the habit，in the pipeline 和 in the bag 等等，其中 kick the bucket ，in the pipeline 和 in the bag 的字面意思合理，但它們還有其他寓意，而 kick the habit 的字面意思”踢習慣“不符合常理，它被用來比喻戒掉（壞）習慣，例如：
