明白的英文單詞怎麼寫

I'm not a native English speaker and I need to ask a question to an Englishman about something that I think he's been working on.

So I plan to use a sentence like: "I believe that you're working on this..." or "I understand that you're working on this...".

You know the difference between believe and understand?

【譯】你知道believe 和understand的區別嗎？

I think I do.

And I asked this question because they say this about understand: to believe or infer something to be the case.

And also my question was more about an English expression than the meaning of the words themselves.

By using I "I believe that you ..." you can state some opinion about this person, which he/she can deny but you nevertheless still hold for true.

【譯】透過使用“I believe that you 。。。（我相信你…）”你可以表達對這個人的一些看法，他/她可以否認，但你仍然堅持認為是事實。

For example "I believe you are unconsciously still in love with her".

【譯】例如“I believe you are unconsciously still in love with her（我相信你在不知不覺中仍然愛著她）”。

【短語】for example 例如；例句：You can buy fruit here - oranges and bananas， for example。 你可以在這裡買水果，例如買柑橘和香蕉。

By using "I understand that you ..." you are merely asking if something is true or not.

【譯】而用“I understand that you 。。。”，你只是在問某件事是真是假。

【單詞】merely ［‘meer-lee］［’mɪəli］ adv。 僅僅；只不過

So the sentence "I understand you are working on this ..." is more appropriate in your situation.

【譯】所以“I understand you are working on this 。。。”這句話更適合你的情況。
