二、重要句型解析

1。 I study by asking the teacher for help。

我透過向老師尋求幫助來學習。

(1)“ask+sb。 + for+名詞”意為“向某人請求。。。”或“向某人要求。。。。”。如:

They asked me for help。他們向我求助。

(2)by作介詞時,後接動詞-ing形式。

2。 I was afraid to ask questions because of my poor pronunciation。但是我害怕問問題,因為我的發音不好。

(1)be afraid to do指不敢去做某事或害怕去做某事。例如:

I’m afraid to jump into the river。我不敢跳進河中。

類似的短語有: be afraid of doing sth。例如:

I‘m afraid of walking alone at night。我害怕晚上一個人走路。

(2) because和because of的意思都是“因為”,區別有:because連詞,“因為“,用來連線原因狀語從句;because of介詞短語,“因為(某人/某事物);由於”,在句中作狀語。例如:

I have to stay at home and take care of my mother because she is ill。我必須待在家裡照顧媽媽,因為媽媽生病了。

The meeting was put off because of the rain。 因為下雨會議被推遲了。

3。 Learning is a lifelong journey because every day brings something new。

學習是一個終身的旅程,因為每天都帶來新的東西。

(1)learning是動名詞在句中作主語

動名詞是非謂語動詞的一種形式,具有以下兩個特點:

①它是從動詞變化而來的,所以保留了動詞的某些特徵,它能帶自己的賓語、狀語等,這時就叫動名詞短語;

②顧名思義,動名詞相當於一個名詞,因此,動名詞在句中可作主語、賓語等。動名詞和名詞一樣有“所有格形式”。例如:

Reading English aloud in the morning will bring you a lot of good。早晨朗讀英文會給你帶來許多好處。

動名詞作主語時,對於一些比較長的動名詞短語,一般採用“It is。。。”和“There is 。 。 。”兩種句式來表示。例如:

There is no joking about such matters。

這種事開不得玩笑。

(2) something new新的東西

複合不定代詞包括something, somebody, someone,anything, anybody, anyone等。它們在句中可用作主語、賓語或表語,但不能用作定語。使用時應注意:

複合不定代詞被定語修飾時,定語應放在它們後面。例如:

①There is nothing wrong with the radio。

這收音機沒有毛病。

②I have something important to tell you。

我有一些重要的事情要告訴你。

三、重點語法

(一)介詞by的用法

1。“通。。。的方式”

The poor girl makes a living by singing。

那個可憐的女孩以唱歌為生。

2。“經過(某人/某物)”

He went by the supermarket on his way to school。在去上學的路上,他經過那家超市。

3。“在。。。。旁邊,在。。。。近”,

Li Li sits by my side in the classroom。

在教室裡,李麗坐在我的旁邊。

4。“在。。。。。之前,不遲。。。。。”。

I can finish doing my homework by nine ’o clock。 我能在九點之前做完家庭作業。

5。表示交通方式“乘。。。。。”

I go to school by bike every day。

我每天騎腳踏車去上學。

特別提示:

by作副詞時,相當於near,意為“靠近”。

The thief stole the money when no one was by,當旁邊無人的時候,小偷偷走了錢。

短語連結:

by and by”不久”,“一會兒”

It’s 12 o‘clock now and we will go home by and by,現在12點了,過一會兒我們就要回家了。

by the way“順便說一下“

By the way,I forgot to tell you the news。

哦,對了,我忘記告訴你那個訊息了。

(二)How引導特殊疑問句,有兩種含義:

1。表示問候。

How are you?你好嗎?

How’s everything going?最近怎麼樣?

2。表示“怎樣”。

①How is your new house?

你的新房子怎麼樣?

It‘s great。 它太棒了 。

②How’s the weather today?

(=What‘s the weather like today?)

今天的天氣怎麼樣?

lt’s sunny。 天氣晴朗。

how通常對程度或方式進行提問,意為“怎麼樣”,回答通常作狀語或表語,what常對動作的發出者或接受者進行提問,意為“什麼”,回答通常作主語或賓語。
