在英語裡，一般用on a bus表示在公交車上，為什麼in a bus是錯誤的表達呢？我們先學習一下on這個介詞的用法吧。

on：（覆蓋、附著）在…上（意指接觸物體表面或構成物體表面的一部分）；由…支撐著；在（運輸工具）上

on a/the train 在火車上

on a/the ship 在大船上

on a/the plane 在飛機上

在英語裡，當on的意思是在交通工具上時，on的適用範圍是比較廣闊的空間，適用於乘客有較大走動範圍的交通工具。所以在飛機上、在火車上、在地鐵上、在船上、在公共汽車上，一般都用on。

例句：

There was only one seat free on the train

火車上只剩下一個空座。

We waited till twelve and we finally got on the plane。

我們一直等到12點才終於上了飛機。
