難點一 修飾比較級和最高階的詞

1.修飾比較級的詞有 rather, much, still, even, far, a lot, a little, a great deal, by far, a bit. three times 等。如:

The studentsstudy even harder than before。 學生們比以前學習更努力了。

2.修飾最高階的詞有序數詞,by far, nearly, almost, by no means, not really 等。如:

I‘ d like to buy the second most expensive camera。 我想買便宜一點兒的照相機。

小貼士

by far通常用來修飾最高階，但也可修飾比較級，修飾比較級時，byfar一般在比較級後面，如在前面，應在二者間加the。這種用法與其修飾最高階時相同。如：

The book is better by far than that one。 這本書比那本書要好得多。

He’s by far the taller of the two brothers。 他是兩弟兄中高的那一個。

難點二 使用比較級結構時要注意的問題

1.比較的內容要一致:當比較的內容是不可數名詞時，than後面要用that替代前面提到的名詞;如果比較的內容是可數名詞單數時,than後面可以使用that或 the one 替代前面提到的名詞,如果是可數名詞複數則用those(可參考高考英語語法之代詞（1）)，如:

This problem is more important than the one you mentioned just now。

The color of your shoes is brighter than that of mine。

The girls in our class are not so active as those in Class 1。

2.使用平行結構

It is easier said than done。 說起來容易做起來難。

She thinks it better to work than to go shopping。 她認為上班比去購物好。
