我們都知道，must 的過去形式為 had to， 意思是“必須，不得不”，如：I must go to school now。 我現在必須去上學。但時如果是過去時態就應該是：I had to go to school yesterday。 我昨天必須去上學。這句話中就不能用must。 但是，must 也有用於過去時態的情況，今天我們一起來學習一下。

1。 在間接引語中的情況下，must 可用於過去時態。

例句1：Last night I told my parents that I must finish my homework before 9：00 pm。

昨天晚上我告訴父母親我必須在晚上9點前完成作業。

2。 引含間接引語中，must 可用於過去時態。

例句2：Yesterday morning I considered how I should spend the day。 First I must finish my homework。

昨天早上我考慮如何度過這一天。首先我必須完成我的家庭作業。

3。 在從句中must 可用於過去時態。

例句3：There were some tasks that I must finish first。

有一些任務我必須得先做完。

4。 當must 為“偏偏”的意思時，可用於過去時態。

例句4：As I was talking on the phone with my parents， someone must knock at the door。
