古典樂的奇蹟正在於它竟能在現代境遇中，在一個棄置德性的時代裡呈現出一種古典的，同時也是現代的德性。只是今天我們在聆聽古典樂時，已經幾乎認不出這些靈魂的美和善了。這個講座音樂會系列便意在嘗試重新認識古典樂在其至高處展現出來的靈魂的美和善。

Virtue and Classical Music

The magic of classical music lies in its structure， a structure of presenting a virtue， a long forgotten virtue in our modern construction。 It emerged in the classical time， it equally applies/penetrates to today’s world， it exemplifies its classical modes as well as modern aspects。Today， we almost fail to recognize the beauty and compassion that embodied in these music。 The intention of this lecture-concert series is an endeavor to re-cognize classical music， which reveals， really， such beauty and compassion of the searching souls。

在最為艱險困頓的情境中貞定如一，承負一切善惡苦樂，在生死之際直面真實。這個講座會藉助濟慈和海子的詩， 來闡明舒伯特最後一首鋼琴奏鳴曲的開端。

When caught in the most difficult and hopeless situations， be truthful to all things， suffer through all the joys and sorrows， endure what are good and evil。 At the threshold between life and death， come to its truth face to face。 In this lecture recital， we will try to explicate the beginning of Schubert‘s last piano sonata， by way of a cross illumination between poems of Keats and Haizi。

鋼琴家 談晨

談晨（Michael Tan）於1975年2月11日生於中國上海。四歲開始學習鋼琴，就讀於上海音樂學院附小、附中，師從聖建頤教授和楊晏如教授。1990 年，談晨來到美國，在舊金山音樂學院院長、傑出的音樂教育家索爾金（Milton Salkind） 先生的親自指導下得窺西方音樂的堂奧，之後在茱莉亞音樂學院（The Juilliard School）攻讀鋼琴和作曲兩個專業。鋼琴方面師從著名鋼琴家斯代森（Herbert Stessin），作曲方面師從兩位當代作曲大師德爾特雷蒂其（David Del Tredici）和阿德勒（Samuel Adler）。

談晨曾先後在舊金山青年藝術家比賽、Santa Barbara 全美青年鋼琴大賽、國立藝術基金全美青年藝術選拔賽、科爾堡室內樂大賽和巴豪爾國際鋼琴比賽等重大比賽中獲獎。這些年來，他活躍在美國和世界的舞臺上，曾在諸如紐約林肯中心、華盛頓肯尼迪中心、舊金山赫普斯特劇院等著名音樂廳裡以協奏、獨奏、室內樂等多種形式為音樂愛好者和專業人士們一次次展示出他對各類經典作品的獨到闡釋，並贏得了包括華爾街時報、華盛頓郵報、舊金山日報等權威樂評的高度讚美。

談晨不僅是一位傑出的鋼琴演奏家，而且一向致力於音樂教學。他曾在舊金山音樂學院和著名的伊斯特曼音樂學院（The Eastman School of Music）任職，從事鋼琴教學、聲樂指導和室內樂輔導等多種工作。在演奏和教學之餘，談晨還經常舉辦多種音樂講座，既有對艱深的音樂文化史的專題探討，也有為普及古典音樂而開設的深入淺出的音樂欣賞。

2013年，談晨回到中國。為了深化、提升中國聽眾對西方古典音樂文化內涵的理解，談晨在北京大學舉辦了系列講座音樂會《德奧音樂與英語詩歌》，獲得了各界文化人士的廣泛關注和好評。他堅信，一門鮮活的藝術一定能夠相容精英和大眾的需求，在一代人與另一代人之間燃起共同的激情。

Michael Tan was born in 1975 in Shanghai， China。 He began studying piano at the age of four and attended the Primary School and Middle School affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music。 In 1990 he emigrated to the United States and continued his study with Milton Salkind， then president of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music。 In 1998 he graduated from the Juilliard School， where he studied piano with Herbert Stessin and composition with Samuel Adler and David Del Tredici。

Tan has won many competitions， including the Santa Barbara Symphony Young Artists Piano Competition in 1990， the San Francisco Young Pianists Competition in 1991。 In 1993 he received a Level-1 award in the Arts Recognition and Talent Search of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts， and in the same year Kohl Mansion Chamber Music Competition。 In 1996 he was a winner in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition。 Over the past twenty-five years， he has performed extensively throughout the United States and Asia both as a soloist and a collaborative artist， and has received enthusiastic critical acclaims from the Washington Post， the Wall Street Journal， and the San Francisco Chronicles， among others。

From 1998 to 2008 Tan served as staff pianist and chamber music coach first at the San Francisco Conservatory， and then at the Eastman School of Music。 Since 2013 he has been residing in China， teaching privately and giving lectures and master classes at the China Conservatory of Music， focusing especiallyxiumi。us“ style=”margin： 0px； padding： 0px； max-width： 100%； box-sizing： border-box； word-wrap： break-word ！important；“>
