Vow of silence

A man joined an abbey and took a vow of silence： he was allowed to speak only two words every five years。

After the first five years had passed， he went to see the abbot and said， “Bed hard。” Whereupon he turned around and walked out of the door。

Five years later he went to see the abbot again and said， “Food cold。” Again， he turned and walked out。

After another five years had passed， he once more went to see the abbot。 This time he said， “I quit。

”I‘m not surprised，“ responded the abbot。 ”All you’ve done since you got here is complain。“

沉默的誓言

一名男子加入了一所修道院，併發誓保持沉默：他每五年只能說兩個詞。

在頭五年過去後，他去見方丈說：“床硬了。”說完，他就轉身走出門去。

五年後，他又去見方丈，說：“食物涼了。”他又轉身走了出去。

又過了五年，他又去見了方丈。這次他說：“我不幹了。”

“我不驚訝，”住持回答說。“自從你來到這裡，你就一直在抱怨。”
